Man Arraigned For Beating Son With Cable Wire

A 52-year-old father, Olusanyo Olayinka, was yesterday arraigned before an Ota Chief Magistrates' Court in Ogun State for allegedly beating and injuring his son with a cable-wire.
The accused, a resident of No.3 Ejio Road, Ariybayo, Ifo, was arraigned on a one-count charge of assault, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Chudu Gbesi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 3 at about 10:00am at his residence. Gbesi said the accused assaulted his son with a cable wire and inflicted several injuries on his back. He said the offence contravened Section 338(1) of the Criminal Code, Law of Ogun, 2006.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge. Senior Magistrate S.O. Banwo, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
